Ujjayi, also known as phychic breathe, as it leads to subtle states of mind and is a great practice to develop introversion.
Ujjayi means = to conquer, to be victorious
Step by Step
Sit in any comfortable position, preferably in a meditation Posture. Try relaxing your physical body and try bringing in mental relaxation.
Take the awareness towards your breathing in your nostrils and let your breathe become calm and rhythmic.
Now slowly start taking your awareness towards your throat and observe the passage of air, as you breathe in and breathe out, in your throat. As you develop further into the practice, let your breathe become slower, deeper and rhythmic; gently contracting the glottis so that you could hear a gentle snoring sound (just like a new born baby) within. If this is practiced correctly there will be a simultaneous contraction of the abdomen. This happens by itself, without any effort being made. Ensure that you are completely aware and none is able to hear the noise.
